A Historic Tuscan Villa Steeped in Legacy
Dating back to 1412, Villa Grabau has passed through the hands of some of Lucca’s most prominent families—including the powerful Diodati merchants, the noble Counts Orsetti, and the Marquises Cittadella. In 1868, it was acquired by German banker Rodolfo Schwartze, whose wife Carolina Grabau helped transform the villa’s park into a botanical gem through her collaboration with the Botanical Garden of Lucca.
To this day, Villa Grabau remains in the care of the same family, preserving its rich heritage and serene ambiance.
