Hamlet Casalbosco near Florence
is one very special wedding venue. Located in the countryside of Pistoia, just 30 km from Florence, Borgo Antico Casalbosco is a breathtaking medieval farmhouse and winery surrounded by rolling vineyards and ancient olive groves.
Originally built in the 1300s by noble families of Pistoia as a military fortress, its purpose was to protect the city. Over the centuries, the fortress evolved into a thriving settlement, and in the 17th century, it was occupied by the militia of Cosimo de’ Medici. Under the stewardship of the Tolomei family, the estate—spanning an impressive 150 hectares of vineyards—was transformed into a refined summer retreat. During this period, the villa was expanded, and the surrounding village was converted into a working farm to sustain the estate and its workers.
Today, the historic hamlet has been carefully restored, offering beautifully renovated rooms and apartments arranged around a charming central courtyard. The estate features a fully equipped swimming pool with stunning views over the vineyards, providing guests with a tranquil sanctuary to relax and immerse themselves in nature. Steeped in history, Borgo Antico Casalbosco is a haven of serenity, offering an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
A Perfect Setting for Intimate Weddings
The venue comprises a variety of spaces, making it ideal for small weddings, with a maximum capacity of 90 guests.
It features a garden with a swimming pool, a winter garden, a cosy lounge, a courtyard, a winery, and a scenic garden overlooking the vineyards.
Ceremony Locations
Couples may host their symbolic ceremony in the gardens or the courtyard.
For an additional fee, ceremonies can also be held in the winery, adding a unique and atmospheric touch to the occasion.
