Fattoria di Calappiano: A Villa Rich in History
Fattoria di Calappiano is a historic treasure, steeped in centuries of fascinating stories and noble heritage.
Commissioned in the 16th century by Francesco I de’ Medici, the villa was envisioned as a quintessential "Tuscan farm," complete with flourishing vineyards, a hunting reserve, and elegant guest accommodations for distinguished visitors.
Over time, it came under the stewardship of the Habsburg family during their reign over the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. Later, the estate was acquired by the English noble A. H. Savage Landor, earning it the affectionate nickname, "Villa of the English."
Today, this storied estate continues its legacy under the care of the Sensi family, preserving its timeless charm and historic significance.
